We visit the saltpans of Skala Kallonis to see the flamingos and other water birds. We continue our trip along the Gulf of Kalloni and up in the mountains to see the rock face of Issa.
In the tiny village of Parakila you can find the remainings of on old Turkish mosque and a lovely medieval bridge. In the small shop of the women cooperative you have the possibility to purchase some homemade local treats like jams and fruits in syrup.
We continue to the impressive wall of King Makar – over 5.000 years old. On small tracks we cross the mountains to the north coast.
At the beautiful, sandy beach of Ambelia you can swim and relax. We can also enjoy a lovely meal in a taverna at the sea.
